La economía española registrará un crecimiento del 0,4% en 2014, según las previsiones del Instituto de la Economía Mundial, que auguran que la UE-27 aumentará en cambio un 1,2% de media el próximo año.

Las estimaciones del organismo internacional, recogidas por el Instituto de Estudios Económicos, apuntan a que en 2014 sólo habrá dos países, Grecia y Chipre, que volverán a sufrir una contracción de su PIB.

En concreto, por lo que respecta a España, el Instituto de la Económica Mundial prevé para 2013 una caída del PIB del 1,4%, pero augura una tasa levemente positiva del 0,4% para el ejercicio 2014. Portugal registrará la misma cifra que España, mientras que el PIB caerá un 1,0% en Grecia y un 1,5% en Chipre.

En términos generales, las mayores tasas de crecimiento económico corresponderán de nuevo a Letonia (4,5%), figurando a continuación Estonia y Lituania con un 4,0%. De su lado, Bulgaria, Rumanía y Eslovaquia se moverán en torno o levemente por debajo del 3%.

Asimismo, Suecia logrará un crecimiento económico del 2,5%, la mejor cifra entre los países de la antigua UE-15. Finlandia, el Reino Unido y Bélgica se situarán alrededor del promedio de la UE-27. El informe estima que, por su parte, Alemania registrará un crecimiento del 1,5% el próximo ejercicio.

Mientras, por debajo de la media europea se quedarán nueve países, a tan sólo unas décimas en el caso de Holanda y Dinamarca. Francia tendrá un crecimiento del 0,9% e Italia del 0,7%.

Spain´s economy will register growth of 0.4% in 2014, according to the estimates of the Institute for the World Economy which says that the EU-27, in turn, will grow on average by 1.2% next year.

The estimations made by the international organisation, gathered by the Institute for Economic Studies (IEE), state that in 2014 there will only be two countries, Greece and Cyprus, that will continue to suffer an economic contraction in their GDP.

Moreover, with respect to Spain, the Institute for the World Economy believes that there will be a 1.4% decrease in GDP for 2013, but sees a slight increase of 0.4% in the rate for 2014. Portugal will register the same figure as Spain, while the GDP in Greece will fall 1.0% and 1.5% in Cyprus.

In general terms, the largest economic growth rates will correspond once again to Latvia (4.5%), with Estonia y Lithuania coming in at 4.0%. They´re followed by Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia that will move in the range of 3% or slightly less.

Likewise, Sweden will achieve economic growth of 2.5%, the best number among the former EU-15 countries. Finland, the United Kingdom and Belgium will be situated around the EU-27 average. The report estimated that, on its behalf, Germany will record growth of 1.5% in the coming year.
