¿Para qué usan la tecnología móvil los países emergentes?

El uso de la tecnología móvil en los países emergentes ha influido principalmente en la vida diaria de millones de habitantes de todo el mundo. La principal razón para la utilización de las tecnologías en estos países son para educarse, pero muchos temen que esto amenace su moral.

A través de un estudio del Centro de Investigación Pew, que entrevistó a miles de personas de 32 países y naciones emergentes, se han revelado datos notables sobre su uso diario de la tecnología y de cómo esto puede influir en el desarrollo de su vida cotidiana.

1.- LOS LATINOAMERICANOS, AMANTES DE LOS SELFIES Y VÍDEOS

Al igual que en Estados Unidos, los latinoamericanos en general están interesados en capturar el mundo que les rodea, por lo que, seis de cada diez usuarios de smartphones en Chile, México, Argentina, Brasil y Nicaragua aseguran utilizarlos para hacer vídeos o fotos. Sin embargo, en Venezuela esto es algo más común: tres cuartas partes de los propietarios de teléfonos móviles, un 89 por ciento de la población, utilizan su dispositivo electrónico para este uso.

2.- EL AMOR DE LOS FILIPINOS HACIA LAS REDES SOCIALES

El 93 por ciento de los usuarios adultos de Internet en Filipinas aseguran utilizar redes sociales como Facebook o Twitter. Este es el mayor porcentaje entre los países emergentes y en desarrollo. La mayoría de los usuarios afirman utilizar las redes sociales para compartir sus opiniones acerca de música, películas o para hablar de deportes.

3.- COMPRAS POR INTERNET, HABITUAL EN CHINA

Más de la mitad de los usuarios de Internet chinos, el 53 por ciento, utilizan la tecnología para comprar productos. Dado el tamaño del mercado chino en la red, el comercio en línea aumentará en los próximos años de una forma descomunal.

4.- INDIA Y BANGLADESH BUSCAN EMPLEO POR INTERNET

El uso de Internet en la India y Bangladesh es algo minoritario, tan solo un 20 y un 11 por ciento de la población respectivamente lo utilizan. Entre estos usuarios, la utilidad más común es la búsqueda de empleo, un 62 por ciento en Bangladesh y un 55 por ciento en la India, las cifras más altas de los países encuestados.

5.- LA POLÍTICA, LO MÁS COMENTADO EN LÍBANO

La utilidad que los libaneses le dan a las redes sociales, tres cuartas partes aseguran utilizar la plataforma para la discusión de la política. Tan solo Egipto, con un 66 por ciento, y Jordania, con un 63 por ciento, tienen niveles similares.

6.- LA OBTENCIÓN DE INFORMACIÓN POLÍTICA EN UCRANIA

Ocho de cada diez ucranianos utiliza Internet para obtener noticias e información política. En general, una media del 54 por ciento de los usuarios de países emergentes y en desarrollo encuestados aseguraron dar este uso a la red, lo que hace que Ucrania sea el país que más importancia le da a la obtención política a través de dispositivos electrónicos.

7.- OCHO DE CADA DIEZ RUSOS TIENEN UN ORDENADOR

A pesar del creciente interés en los países emergentes y en desarrollo sobre los smartphones y tablets, ocho de cada diez ciudadanos rusos (el 78 por ciento) aseguran tener un ordenador personal en su hogar.

8.- SIN LÍNEA FIJA EN NIGERIA, GHANA, BANGLADESH Y UGANDA

El abandono de la línea fija en muchos países es algo evidente, algo que contrasta con el aumento de esta en Estados Unidos. En los países emergentes, esto se refleja en que tan solo un 1 por ciento de la población de Nigeria, Ghana, Bangladesh y Uganda tienen un teléfono fijo en su hogar.

Sin embargo, el 89 por ciento en Nigeria, el 83 por ciento en Ghana, el 76 por ciento en Bangladesh y el 65 por ciento en Uganda posee teléfonos móviles.

9.- LAS MUJERES POLACAS BUSCAN INFORMACIÓN MÉDICA

Más de seis de cada diez usuarios de Internet en Polonia, el 64 por ciento, dicen haber recibido información de salud a través de la red en los últimos 12 meses. Además, el 75 por ciento de los usuarios son mujeres.

10.- EN TAILANDIA, MÁS USUARIOS JÓVENES

Por lo general, en los países encuestados son más las personas jóvenes de entre 18 y 34 años utilizan más a menudo Internet. Sin embargo, esto se produce aún más en Asia, y concretamente en Tailandia, donde el 83 por ciento de los jóvenes de 18 a 34 años de edad están en línea, pero tan solo el 27 por ciento de los usuarios de más de 35 años están en Internet.

The use of mobile technology in in emerging countries has had a big impact on the daily life of millions of people around the world. The main reason technology is used in these countries is for educational purposes, but many fear this is a threat to their morals.

According to a Pew Research Center study, which interviewed thousands of people from 32 countries and emerging nations, significant data has been found on the daily use of technology and how this can influence the development of their daily lives.

1.- LATIN AMERICANS, IN LOVE WITH SELFIES AND VIDEOS

Just like in the U.S., Latin Americans are mainly interested in capturing the world around them and six out of ten smartphone users in Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Nicaragua say they use them to take photos or videos. However, this is even more prevalent in Venezuela: three fourths of mobile telephone owners, or 89% of the population, use their phone for this purpose.

2.- THE LOVE OF FILIPINOS FOR SOCIAL NETWORKS

93% of adult internet users say they use social networks like Facebook or Twitter. This is the largest percentage among emerging and developing countries. The majority of the users say they use social networks to share their opinions on music, movies or to talk about sports.

3.- MAKING PERCHASES ON THE INTERNET, THE NORM IN CHINA

More than half of Chinese internet users (53%), use technology to buy products. Given the size of the Chinese online market, online commerce is going to increase over the next few years a lot.

4.- INDIA AND BANGLADESH LOOK ONLINE FOR JOBS

The use of internet in India and Bangladesh is kind of a minority; just 20% and 11% of the populations, respectively, use the internet. Among those users, the most common use is to look for work: 62% in Bangladesh and 55% in India, which are the highest percentages among the countries surveyed.

5.- POLITICS, TALKED ABOUT MOST IN LEBANON

The main use given to social networks by three quarters of Lebanese is said to use the platform as a way to discuss politics. Only in Egypt, with 66%, and in Jordan, with 63%, have usage levels that are similar.

6.- OBTAINING POLITICAL INFORMATION IN UKRAINE

Eight of out ten Ukrainians use the internet to get new or information on politics. In general, 54% of internet users on average in the emerging and developing countries surveyed said they use the internet for this purpose, which makes Ukraine the country where the greatest amount of importance is given to politics on electronic devices.

7.- EIGHT OF OUT TEN RUSSIANS HAVE A COMPUTER

In spite of the increasing interest in emerging and developing countries about smartphones and tablets, eight out of ten Russian citizens (78%) say they have a PC in their home.

8.- NO LAND LINES IN NIGERIA, GHANA, BANGLADESH AND UGANDA

The abandonment of land lines is pretty obvious in many countries, something that contrasts with the increase of these lines in the U.S. In emerging countries, this can be seen from the fact that just 1% of the population in Nigeria, Ghana, Bangladesh and Uganda have a land line in their home.

However, 89% in Nigeria, 83% in Ghana, 76% in Bangladesh and 65% in Uganda own mobile telephones.

9.- POLISH WOMEN SEARCH FOR MEDICAL INFORMATION

More than 6 out of ten internet users in Poland, 64%, say they´ve received information online regarding their health during the last 12 months. What´s more is that 75 of internet users are women.

10.- IN THAILAND, THE YOUNGEST USERS

Overall, in the countries surveyed the youngest people, between the ages of 18 and 34, are the ones using the internet most often. However, this is more common in Asia, and specifically in Thailand, where 83% of young people between the ages of 18 and 34 are online, but where just 27% of those older than 35 are Internet users.
