Tiffany and Co. recorta su previsión de beneficios por la fortaleza del dólar

Tiffany´s ha revisado a la baja su expectativa de beneficio por acción para el conjunto del ejercicio en curso hasta una horquilla de entre 4,15 y 4,20 dólares, frente al anterior rango de entre 4,20 y 4,30 dólares, informó la compañía joyera.

A pesar de la rebaja en las previsiones de la compañía, el beneficio por acción de Tiffany se situaría entre un 11% y un 13% por encima del dato del ejercicio precedente.

"Para el próximo año estamos planificando prudentemente, porque prevemos significativos vientos en contra por un dólar más fuerte", declaró Frederic Cumenal, presidente de la compañía.

Tiffany informó este lunes de que sus ventas en los dos meses de la temporada de vacaciones, que concluyó el pasado 31 de diciembre, sumaron 1.020 millones de dólares (865 millones de euros), un 1% menos que un año antes, aunque sin tener en cuenta el efecto del cambio de divisas la facturación creció un 3%.

En los once primeros meses de su ejercicio fiscal, la compañía joyera vio caer sus ventas un 2%, mientras que a tipo constante de cambio habrían aumentado un 8%.

A 31 de diciembre, Tiffany contaba con un total de 296 tiendas en todo el mundo, frente a las 286 de un año antes.

Tiffany´s ha downwardly revised is earnings per share estimates for the entire 2014 fiscal year from between $4.15 and $4.20, compared to their earlier estimate range of between $4.20 and $4.30, the jewelry company announced.

In spite of the reduction in the company´s earnings previsions, Tiffany´s earnings per share would still be between 11% and 13% above what it was last year.

“For this coming year, we are planning prudently because we foresee significant headwinds due to the stronger dollar,” announced the company’s president Frederic Cumenal.

Tiffany and Co. announced on Monday that their sales during the two holiday months, which finished last December 31st, amounted to 1.02 billion dollars (865 million euros), 1% less than last year, although they did not take the currency exchange rate effect on their revenue into account, which grew 3%.

During the first 11 months of the fiscal year, the jewelry company saw their sales fall by 2%, while at a constant exchange rate they would have increased by 8%.

As of December 31st, Tiffany´s had a total of 296 shops around the world, compared to their 286 shops the year before.
